| The ICCM04 was held on March 21st at Dunwich, a fantastic
number of anglers took part on the very windy beach and many of them
managed to weigh in a range for fish such as codling, dab, whiting and
pout. |
| |
| The day started at 8.30am in the cafe in the main park
car were the staff did a great job to keep up with order after
order of breakfasts and coffees. The ICCM group would like to thank the
staff and the owner for putting up with us all and also for looking
after the prizes whilst we were fishing. |

The
78 anglers made their way down to the beach for a 10am start in what can
only be described as blustery conditions with a slight sea. The sun made
its way through the clouds for most of the event with a few showers just
to cool us all down. The fishing was pretty slow going with mainly
undersized fish being landed to start with but as the tide dropped a few
better fish turned up with many just over the sized line. The biggest
problem was not the weather but the amount of weed being washed over the
lines, no leader knot was without a bundle of the stuff on every retrieval.
|
| |
| Fishing near John Abbott did have one advantage, every
half an hour someone would phone him to let us know what was happening
further along the beach, what a brilliant invention the mobile phone is,
where would we be without them. |
| |
| The match ended at 3pm and the weigh-in followed, by 4pm
we were all in the Ship Inn public house where the landlord and his staff
looked after us with really swift service, thanks for letting us invade
your pub for the prize presentations chaps. |

Caroline,
Jake's good lady did a fantastic job of running the raffle, many thanks
to her for all the extra work that she got roped into such as sorting
out the pools monies etc...
Last years star angler Dean Bass, Essex won the Diawa 7HT donated by
Brian Deanes Tackle in the special raffle, you should have seen the look
on Mick Philips (Moby) face when Dean announced that he wanted him to
have it after hearing that Mick had lots of tackle stolen from his home
recently. I knew the match drew really friendly anglers in but this
really was one of those times when you get that lump in the back of you
throat and when you realise that Dean did not even have another chance
of any other top prizes due to not weighing in it makes it an even
greater act of kindness. |
| |
| Before we get to the results I would like to thank Jake
Smith for organising this smooth running trouble free event and his
captains, Kevin Eley, John Abbott, Mark Alsop and Steve Coppolo for all
their help, these lads did a really good job of keeping us all in line.
I'd better remember to thank that Nigs who was unable to fish the event
for helping me with the collection of names and results for the site
along with the bonus help from John. |

| That's enough rambling on for now, here comes the bit you
are all waiting for.... |
